Chilling with wayne

This is an example of Wayne acting silly on the weekend, just before his 17th birthday.

Wayne has had a pretty good week, although we have changed his dose of lufox. He did something very cute the other day at Whitney’s birthday. I took him to the bathroom and he was unable to do his business in his normal way. Wayne likes too urinate sitting down. But this particular time he had to stand up. He kept saying pea standing up as he used the urinal.

I hope to get more video of Wayne at school but I need to get the school’s permission, we will see how that goes.

Wayne's World Intro

We face many problems in our country. We have listened to the political rhetoric concerning the economy, the wars and health care to name a few. But my fiends we have looming on the horizon a major economic and social pandemic. It is autism and families are suffering and the price we will pay is growing.

Autism now affects 1 in 150 births. But its real impact has not really been exposed. These special children are starting to become adults and we as nation will have to deal with them.

But out of sight out of mind, we have no massive lobby in Washington padding the coffers of politicians we just have our kids. We love them and want the best possible future for them like any other parent. Those of you who read this probably know someone affected by autism or perhaps it’s you. But this blog is dedicated to putting a face on this plague. I hope that when people see my beautiful son and his life. There will be greater understanding of autism and the challenges we the families of autistic children face. Hopefully we will see the same effort for a cure for autism that we have for cancer and other diseases in this country. Because these children deserve are best effort. And perhaps Wayne will lead the way.

So we launch this blog and will show the real face of autism on a regular basis and we hope you will comment and become involved. Wayne is now sixteen and we will be submitting video’s from his youth. But we will be focusing on his day to day life and what that entails and the implications for his future and the futures of so many others, God bless
